What is the code W169H for the combi heater and how to solve it?
One customer once met with a problem for his 4kw diesel combi heater, it is 2023 new silent version and with both intelligent plateau mode and bluetooth function combi heater, it shows the error code “W169H”, and the heater will stop to run under the code. Actually this is a very normal problem for incorrect operation, it should be easily back to normal state when following the steps correctly. but after trying several times of standard solution, it still not recovers, we guess there may be other problems. It is necessary to gradually rule out all possibilities。
Let me share the entire analysis and repair process here.
First, what does the code W169H mean and how it happens?
“W169H” means Abnormal power off, (by the way, all the error codes can be checked and downloaded in the page of error code list), it only appears when you cut off the power suddenly when the combi was still running the programs.
The solution for W169H is as follows:
During all debugging, make sure the power supply is connected.
1st, Just turn off water heating and cabin heating if the two programs are running at the same time, make sure both of them are turned the “OFF” state by adjusting the function button.(in photos).
2nd, keep pressing the function button till the LCD switch turn off, then press the function button again, restart the combi heater, the error code “W169H” will disappear, the combi will working normally again.
The above is the standard solution, if all installation is correct, it would be quite enough to solve the problem. but the case we mentioned here is a little bit tough, after the client did the above, his feedbacks to us is no work. when operating the combi again, the error code is still comes out.
So, After analysis, we conclude that it is not the problem of the combi, it may be the problem of the 12v battery. We listed the basic requirements for the battery to let client to check as follows:
1st, the battery must be over 60Amp, and it should reach the requirements that the minimum starting current is 17Amp for the combi.
2nd, the battery must be directly connected to the combi with the original cable.
3rd, if there is extension of the cable, the dimension of the cable is not less than 6 square meters(diameter of cable is 2.78mm at least to ensure it can supply enough current).
We suggested client to change another battery to test, but client insist on his battery is no problem, it is totally a new.
Finally, after double checking the connection of the battery, client finds the problem, wrong connection of the cable. whatever, after hrs checking and analysis, it leads to the solution at last, all worth.
